Wow what an amazing location and a beautiful place. The station had been recently purchased and was a fantastic project. One we will remember forever. As you can see the Station was very run down and damaged from a storm. It was still picturesque even in the state it was when we arrived and the Station had so much character and history, I felt like I was on a set of the movie Australia. With some buildings made from Cyprus pine logs, local quarried stone floors and lined with paperbark ceilings, the history and use of local building materials really made this place.
The grader driver, told us about the good days when the Station was loved and looked after with hunters and Station workers sitting down to dinner. A visiting artist used to come there to paint and left various paintings on the walls. Movies were projected on to the white wall of the store shed and everyone would sit outside to watch.
The new owner wants to see this Station return to its former glory. Working with the owner and his wonderful EA Allison, was challenging from a distance but they were such great people to work with.
Looking forward to going back and getting stuck in to stage two!!!
